Queen Elizabeth II To Visit New York On Tuesday

July 6, (THAINDIAN NEWS) After her visit and stay in Canada, on Tuesday, Britain’s monarch Queen Elizabeth II is scheduled to visit New York. As per her official plan of travel, Queen Elizabeth II will lay wreath at the site of the World Trade Center with her husband Prince Philip on July 6. She is scheduled to address the United Nations General Assembly as well. The 84-year-old Queen is visiting New York after almost 35 years.
As per reports, the Queen will not only lay wreath at the destroyed site of the World Trade Center that became the victim of terrorism back in September 11 2001, but also talk to the families who have lost their dear ones in the attack. She will also meet with the survivors of the tragedy and with the people who were involved in the rescue work. She will talk to the fire crew and the police who responded to the attack immediately. The World Trade Center attack had killed around 3,000 people that also included many foreigners.
Queen Elizabeth II will also reportedly open the British Memorial Garden at Hanover Square New York. The Garden that has been created in lower Manhattan is dedicated to the name of all those 67 British citizens who were killed by the World Trade Center attack.
Apart from her visit to the Ground Zero of the World Trade Center, the British monarch will also address the United Nations General Assembly for the second time during her reign. She had addressed the assembly back in 1957. The Queen’s stay in New York is only for a day and the Queen is scheduled to return to her nation on the same day.
