house1Oct 29, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Publisher’s Clearing house has been in news recently. Reports claim that a scam associated with the company has been going on for quite some time now, where people receive calls which says that they have won a prize money but can claim it only by paying a certain amount of money.

Publisher’s Clearing House is a marketing company that provides its customers lucrative opportunity to win popular sweepstakes that are going on. People could easily be fooled by the scam as the company has in the past offered such a huge amount as $500,000 as the prize money. The scam has mainly hit people living in Florida and mostly the elderly people, who are more likely to get fooled by the scam.

Reportedly, people get phone calls from the suspects who claim to be from Publisher’s Clearing House which tells them that they have won a jackpot prize money to the tune of $500,000 and all they have to do to get the money is pay around $100 to $6000, depending on the enormity of the prize money that is being offered. Usually, the suspects ask for bank account numbers or credit cards of the victims to deliver the prize money. However, the Publisher’s Clearing House has completely refuted the charges and have also added that they never actually call any of the winners. Normally, people who win the prize money receive a visit from officials in the company who surprise them by revealing that they have won the prize money. The last prize money was awarded this month to a resident of Hawaii, who won around $15,000.
