Nov 18, (THAINDIAN NEWS) With the announcement of the engagement of Prince William with his longtime girlfriend gradually sinking in, speculations are now abuzz about the royal wedding which is scheduled to take place during spring next year. With some experts reiterating that the total cost of the wedding could be more than tens of millions of dollars, officials in the Buckingham Palace have already made it clear that the British royalty are well aware of the current economic scenario in the nation due to which both Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles are likely to contribute to the cost of the gala wedding ceremony.
A spokesperson of the Buckingham Palace has revealed to the media that the entire wedding ceremony is likely to be held by family contribution but details have not been finalized as yet. The spokesperson also went on to say that if the reception is held in Buckingham Palace, Queen Elizabeth will take care of the expenses. Prince Charles’ wedding to Princess Diana way back in the year 1981 had resulted in the expenditure of a whopping 30 million but experts feel that next year’s wedding which is being pitched as the biggest event in UK, could easily exceed the amount.
However, in the wake of the high rate of unemployment as well as major public spending cuts, an over the top lavish wedding might leave a bitter aftertaste among the Britons, experts have reiterated. With speculations about the total cost of the royal wedding gradually soaring, the likely budget would remain unknown until details about the wedding arrangement are finalized.
