Price of Gas head northward
November 22nd, 2009 - 7:19 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattCamarillo, Nov 22 (THAINDIAN NEWS) ‘Gas in the Greenville-Anderson-Spartanburg metro area averaged $2.44 Friday for a gallon of regular unleaded gas, up from $2.434 on Thursday’, the AAA motor club said. Last month the gas costed just $2.401, and last year it was just $1.843. There has been a significant increase in gas prices in recent times.
When collaborated on a nationwide scale, the average price climbed to $2.642 from $2.638 on Thursday.
Benchmark crude dropped on Friday, decreasing by 74 cents to be at $76.72 a barrel on the last day of trading for the December contract. And the crude prices were at $77.47 for January delivery, which was less by 58 cents.
The average price of regular gasoline in the United States has increased by 17.8 cents over a fortnight period to $2.66. This is said to be the first rise in the national retail price of gas since late July.
Analyst Trilby Lundberg says the average price for a gallon of mid-grade was $2.78. Whereas the premium version was selling at $2.90.
Tucson, Ariz., however had the lowest price among cities surveyed at $2.24 a gallon for regular. Anchorage was the highest at $3.25.
