Washington, Apr 4, (THAINDIAN NEWS) For United States’ first black President, it only needs minutes to decide and tick his racial identity on the census form. The President of United States, Barack Obama has reportedly filled up the details of his family and had ticked his ethnic-identity as African-American. According to reports, though there were many other options which would have given the President the choice to choose and elaborate his parental lineage and racial identity, he did not think twice before ticking the option of “Black, African Am., or Negro.”
The President has in past struggled to decide his ethnic identity and according to the memoir that he has penned, “Dreams From My Father” he had suffered a lot in the past with the crisis. But now it seems that the President has been able to discover his identity and wants to be known as an African-American. President Barack Obama’s mother Ann Dunham was a Kansas lady who got married to Barack Obama Sr., a Kenyan native. The First Lady of United States, Michelle Obama is a descendant of a South Carolina slave.
The President has reportedly filled the Census form last Monday. Along with his own details the President has according to the rules, filled in the details of the members of his family which includes his wife, the First lady Michelle Obama, two daughters Malia and Sasha and his mother-in-law Marian Robinson, who stays with the First Family in the White House. It seems that the President of America who has been a community activist now has mastered the art of ignoring the critics and teasers who have in the past made fun of the racial lineage of the President.
