obama3Vineyard Haven, Aug 20, (THAINDIAN NEWS) With the American forces leaving the Iraqi soil much before the August 31 deadline and the Gulf oil Spill finally getting plugged after huge efforts, it seems United States President Barack Obama is now finally ready to catch a breather. President Barack Obama along with the first family would be spending time together on a vacation spanning across ten days on the upscale resort island of Martha’s Vineyard.

The deputy White House press secretary Bill Burton told the media that the United States President is going to spend some time with his family at the Martha’s Vineyard which would enable him to ‘recharge his batteries.’ The White House official further went on to shed some light into the plans that the first family has lined up for the vacation saying that the Obama family intends to go hiking, spend some time on the beach, visit the ice cream store and do all sorts of fun things that people indulge in while vacationing at the lavish resort island.

President Barack Obama is already known to have taken time off during weekends outside Washington with his family but this would be the first extended vacation of the Obama family. While the President Barack Obama landed on the island airport on Thursday afternoon, first lady Michelle Obama and their two daughters traveled to the resort island separately. However, the trips taken by the United States President especially to the luxurious Martha’s Vineyard has sparked criticism from various quarters especially at a time when the American economy is known to have been going through a challenging phase.
