Pregnant missing teen’s body found in a landfill
August 6th, 2010 - 7:54 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattCorona, Aug 6 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Police have discovered the remains of the 17-year-old pregnant teenager who went missing in May. Her remains were found just before police considered giving up the search for her. Her dead body was discovered in a landfill.
The teenager in question is none other than Anyssia Escamilla who went missing on 11 May when she didn’t return home from school. Her boyfriend - Jesus Avitia Jr, have been arrested by the police after he confessed to killing Escamilla. According to the police, Avitia confessed that he killed Escamilla because she refused to abort her pregnancy.
According to Avitia, his plans of becoming a nurse were in danger because of Escamilla’s pregnancy and that was why he murdered her. Escamilla already has a 3-year-old child from a different relationship.
But Avitia maintains that he did not intend to kill Escamilla. According to his attorney, Avitia loved his girlfriend so much. The attorney - Miles Clark III said the fact that no weapon was used in the murder indicated that his client had no prior intention to kill his girlfriend. “What Mr. Avitia would like everyone to know is that he is sorry for what he did. He is very remorseful. He certainly loved his girlfriend,” according to Clark.
Police say autopsy will be carried out later to determine the cause of death of Escamilla.
