August 3, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): Thomas Beatie seems to have got the best of both worlds. The transgendered man had first made it to the headlines two years ago in 2008 when he was discovered to be pregnant for the first time. The entire world watched in shocked silence as he went on to give birth to his first child Susan. The couple had their second child only a year after. It’s a hatrick now! Beatie has now gone ahead and delivered baby No. 3, a boy.

Family sources say that the newborn is healthy and strong and doing just fine. He is reported to have light brown hair and blue eyes. Sources close to the family have described him as handsome and adorable.However Thomas Beatie and wife Nancy won’t be holding a press conference. They expect to be left alone and will utilize whatever time they have in getting to know the new addition to the family.

When Thomas, the pregnant man, delivered his first child he had to stay at the hospital for over four days. It was a shorter duration of two days when the first son, Austin came along. This time round Beatie did not even have to stay in the hospital for long as everyone was healthy and doing just fine.

The labor was quick and easy and he almost failed to make it to the hospital in time.

Thomas had been born a woman but changed his gender legally. He, however, retained the female organs of reproduction even after he became a man officially. He did it because he wanted to get pregnant in future. His wife Nancy is unable to conceive as she has had a hysterectomy.
