Portrait of Prince Harry & Prince William London, Jan 9 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The first oil portrait of Prince Harry and Prince William has been put up for display for the public. According to the onlookers, both of them look very handsome in the portrait. It is the first time that both of them are depicted together in the same artwork and according to reports, both are thrilled with the final work.

The London-based artist Nicky Phillips has made the portrait. And in the painting, both the princes are shown dressed in full military uniforms. The painting is displayed at the National Portrait Gallery. And according to a gallery spokesperson, the portrait will be on display for at least six months. When the painting was being made then both the princes posed for the picture between August and December 2008.

The artist Nicky Phillips said that, she aimed for “a behind-the-scenes glance at the human element of royal responsibility and to emphasize their brotherly relationship. They were very good company and although I was commissioned to paint them in their official context, I hope I have also captured some of the brotherly banter that characterized the sittings.” National Portrait Gallery director Sandy Nairne said: “The first portrait of the princes captures them formally dressed, but informally posed. It is a delightful image which extends the tradition of royal portraiture.”
