Portland, OR firefighters free man trapped in industrial accident
January 8th, 2010 - 2:04 pm ICT by BNO News ( Leave a comment )PORTLAND, OREGON (BNO NEWS) — Portland, Oregon firefighters freed a man who was left trapped following an industrial accident on Thursday, officials said.
Firefighters from Station 22 in St. Johns responded to a 911 call around 6 p.m., saying a 40-year-old male had been trapped between a stack of plate steel and a rolling crane at Oregon Steel Mills 10400 N. Swift Ct. in North Portland.
As firefighters worked with personnel from the Oregon Steel mills to move several tons of plate steel, fire-medics administered advance life support to the victim. Firefighters meanwhile worked to extricate the man.
Firefighters finally extricated the injured male at 7.07 pm, and was then transported by Life Flight to Emanuel Hospital in critical condition.
