marijuana Louisville KY Feb 22 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Leaving from Memphis, Tennessee, a group of police officers were given the assignment of escorting a transfer truck carrying more than 1700 pounds of cannabis sativa, also known as marijuana, to Louisville, Kentucky. So why did the shipment never arrive?

The truckload of marijuana, which had been confiscated from a tractor trailer on February 10, 2010, was being escorted by the officers en route from Memphis to Louisville. In a controlled drug delivery, escorted by police officers, the truckload of weed, worth upwards of a million dollars, was apparently stolen while the officers watched!

A travel memo which was sent of from the Memphis Police Department said that the marijuana was being escorted by Memphis police, and Shelby County Sheriff deputies. This memo was obtained by the Memphis Commercial Appeal Newspaper.

According to reports from unknown sources, the semi was parked somewhere in Louisville. The officers said that they saw several vehicles pull up to the tractor trailer, leave, then come back and park there again, and then leave again, according to the reports. When the officers checked the trailer again later, it was empty, they said.

Although a federal agent in Memphis, Tennessee did confirm that an investigation into this matter was underway, he was not allowed to give any information at this time.
