A Story of a 9 year-old Amber Hakmerman who was riding on her bicycle, it was a shock when a man took her off and thrown her into the front seat of his pick up truck in front of neighbors. A few days later Amber’s body was found in a drainage ditch four miles away. Her throat had been cut. Her kidnapping and murder remain unsolved.

This happened in 1996 and it is the origin of Amber Alert , a child abduction alert bulletin in the United States and Canada issued upon the suspected abduction of a child. It is distributed via commercial radio stations, satellite radio, television stations, and cable TV by the Emergency Alert System as well as via e-mail and electronic traffic-condition signs.

Now the Amber Alert Child Identification Kit has been recently purchased by Guilford Police Department, with the help of two organizations, the reason was that when kid is missing , actions has to be taken immediately. The cost of the $7,500 product was paid equally by the police department, Guilford Rotary, and District Rotary.

Amber Alert responsible for providing the police and the media with immediate information on a child who has gone missing or been kidnapped. Up-to-date information including a recent photo, height, weight, eye color, and any special birthmarks or other identifying marks can be instantly available to law enforcement officials at the time of abduction.
