Police helicopter crashes in Mourne Mountains

Hilltown, Oct 28 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A Northern Ireland police helicopter has crashed in the Mourne Mountains with four people onboard.

The helicopter crashed just before 11 a.m. local time this morning and none of the people onboard is believed to be in life threatening condition.

Coincidentally the crash followed a previous crash on Saturday where three people lost their lives. The three that perished included two close pals of British monarch Prince Charles.

The Eurocopter Squirrel helicopter was reportedly leased to the North Ireland police and reports indicate that it was involved in the investigation into the Saturday crash. Eyewitnesses say the helicopter had barely taken off when it crashed.

A police spokeswoman revealed the following, “Four people have been injured following an incident involving a police helicopter in the Mourne mountains. The helicopter crashed close to the scene of last Saturday’s fatal helicopter tragedy. It had just taken off when it overturned. The four people on board were able to walk away from the wreckage and are not believed to be seriously injured at this stage however they are being taken to hospital for treatment. The Air Accident Investigation Branch has been informed.”

Investigation has commenced into the new crash with another one continuing into the Saturday deadly crash.
