Police Finally Arrest The ‘Grim Sleeper’

July 10, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): The news is out and it is confirmed that the maniac murder known as the ‘Grim Sleeper Killer’ was taken into police custody. He is charged with the killing of at least 11 people over a span of 25 years. The police apprehended the suspect thanks to the sample of the DNA from his son which bore a close resemblance to the DNA traced on the hapless people who were slain.

The killer identified as Lonnie Franklin Junior was accused of committing several murders and had many other issues. He was further charged and convicted of one murder attempt and also accused of particular situation allegations of a multiplicity of murders. The accusations and convictions if proved right can award him with a death penalty according to Steve Cooley, the District Attorney.

Quite naturally the relatives of the victims were pretty happy with the verdict. As Donnell Alexander, the brother of casualty Monique Alexander acclaimed that it was indeed a good day. This sense of satisfaction is completely justified since the murderer was finally caught and is now behind bars, awaiting trial.

The Los Angeles Police Department or the LAPD had spent over 20 years in search of the suspect, who had committed such heinous crimes circa between 1985 and 2007. He’s called the “Grim Sleeper” as he supposedly took a ‘leave’ from murdering innocent people for a span of 14 years between the years 1988 and 2002. The police however finally caught hold of the assailant and the victim’s family seeks justice.
