A police spokesman said 25 people were injured when a cab driver possibly fell asleep and drove his car into a crowd in the Gaslamp area of San Diego. He said a 20-year-old woman suffered a severed lower leg.
After the accident, an angry crowd attacked the cab driver who suffered a broken nose as a result. He was later taken into custody although alcohol did not play a factor in the accident.
