Plane Crashes in Las Vegas Neighborhood, Injuries Reported

Sep 6 (THAINDIAN NEWS) According to the McCarran Airport control tower, a small plane has crashed into a Los Vegas neighborhood, in southeast Vegas, near Bermuda and Serene. According to witness reports to ‘8 News Now’, there were two or three people on board the plane when it crash landed. A neighbor of the witness was said to have hosed down the smoking wings.

BNO News reports that there have been at least four people who were injured in the accident, and stated that there were actually four people on board the small Piper Cherokee airplane when it crashed at around 8 am local time, Chris Jones, who is a spokesman for the Clark County Department for Aviation, told BNO News.

Ian Gregor, who is the Federal Aviation Administration spokesman stated that the airplane left Henderson Executive Airport just before the crash, and could not gain altitude. “The pilot tried to return to Henderson but crashed on a street in a residential neighborhood about 2 miles (3.2 kilometers) northwest of the airport at 8:15 a.m.,” Gregor stated.

Four people were reported to have been taken to the hospital and Clark County Fire Department spokeswoman said that the plane crashed into a few cars. The injuries of the four on board the plane are still unknown and there is not yet news of any injuries to those on the ground.
