Plane Crash Near Nazca Lines Claims Six Lives

lineLima, Oct 3, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The law enforcement officials declared that at-least three British tourists and two crew members were killed on Saturday when their aircraft crashed at the south of Lima, Peru. The British tourists were reportedly sightseeing the place and they were flying to see the famous Nazca lines. A police official said in his statement that all the tourists who were “aboard” are dead and the plane crash just after taking off.

The police chief Alfredo Coronel reported that the plane was operated by Air Nasca and an apparent engine problem caused the plane to crash at some 350 km South of Lima. The plane reportedly crashed at about 4:15 p.m. local time and 10:15 p.m. British time on Saturday. A reputed media source reported that two pilots have also died in the crash. The police also said that the aircraft tried to make an emergency landing near Nazca Lines, however, it lost its control and struck the field with great force.

A reputed media source reported that the firefighters and police are presently working to recover the dead bodies from the plane. The police refused to divulge any more details about the crash and even the British Embassy officials in Lima have declined to comment anything further about the crash. However, Foreign Office spokesman said that the ‘Peruvian authorities’ have told them that three British people were killed in the plane crash. He also added that the police is now trying to identify the “nationality” and “identity” of the fourth passenger. This aircraft crash on Saturday reminded the people about the similar crash in February which claimed the lives of six tourists and the pilot as well. Even in 2008, an airplane crash claimed killed five French tourists near the Nazca Lines.
