Pierre Garcon Donates For Haiti Relief

Pierre GarconJan 17, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The wide receiver of Indianapolis Colts, Pierre Garcon was deeply hurt to learn about the devastating earthquake at Haiti. The light hearted Pierre Garcon with his trademark smile was concerned about his friends and relatives who live close to the capital city of Port-Au-Prince. He says “Aunts, uncles, nieces, Nephews. We still have not heard much from them and my mom is still trying to call them, I’m keeping in contact with my mom. It’s tough to get in touch with people down there because of the phone lines.”

The player was born in Carmel. He did his schooling from Florida. However his parents migrated to U.S. from Haiti, leaving behind lots of friends and relatives out there. Not being able to gather any information about his near and dear ones. He thought it was time for action. Through his Twitter account he asked his fans for help. In one tweet he writes, “We need the US military as soon as possible n Haiti We need the 4 million Haitian that live out side of haiti to Act now, we need da world!” Pierre Garcon has received calls recently that some of his relatives are safe. But is unaware of others.

On Saturday the Indianapolis Colts played against Baltimore Ravens where they beat the Baltimore Ravens 20-3. Pierre Garcon caught 5 passes for 34 yards. Through this match Indianapolis Colts planned to donate $10,000 to the American Red Cross relief. They are asking their fans to join by messaging ‘HAITI’ to 90999. Donation of $10 will go to Red Cross relief in the process.
