Phil Ivey says that investors need to be worried who invested in Full Tilt Poker
June 3rd, 2011 - 1:16 am ICT by Aishwarya BhattNew York, June 2 (THAINDIAN NEWS) American poker players who have their funds stored up in Full Tilt Poker will have to be worried, according to Phil Ivey. Ivey creates a picture of gloom for some of the players who believe their money is safe.
Ivey sued Tiltware and asked the District Court of Clark County, Nevada to order the company to pay him in excess of $150 million. Ivey will be represented in court by David Z. Chesnoff of Las Vegas. In the suit, Ivey claims that he has lost business opportunities because of breach of a contract he has with the company. He also claims that the Full Tilt Poker does not have enough reserve to pay all US players if they decide to withdraw their money. He alleged that not everyone will have their full funds in the end.
Ivey has already announced that he will not be part of 2011 Poker World Series. Tiltware reacted to the suit on Wednesday. In a statement, the company said that Ivey’s action is borne out of selfishness.
Part of the statement said that, “Contrary to his sanctimonious public statements, Phil Ivey’s meritless lawsuit is about helping just one player – himself.”
The statement further said the company was ready to battle Ivey out in court.
