PETA wants a cow memorial in Illinois

Washington, Jan 4 (THAINDIAN NEWS) According to the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), memorial should not be denied any specie when it is deserved. Subsequently, the group which seeks to uphold the rights to animals says a memorial should be installed on the highway for a group of cows that were killed when the vehicle they were traveling in flipped.

PETA says highway markings should be used as a memorial for the animals. The group believes that such a memorial will get drivers to care for the loads that they carry. The group is ready to pay for the markers to honor the cows that died last year.

Last May, about 20 cows were killed when the vehicle that they were traveling in flipped on an overpass. One cow had to be shot by the police because the animal was in so much pain.

PETA believes the animals deserve to have a befitting memorial. The group has petitioned the Illinois Department of Transportation to have the permission to erect the markings citing the state’s Roadside Memorial Act.

Experts expect the petition to be turned down because such requests can only be done by the relatives of a highway accident victim.

That is great news because all that PETA has to do is prove that they are related to the dead cows!
