Pet Cat Saves Couple From House On Fire

cat1Wonder Lake, Jan 19, (THAINDIAN NEWS) A couple were saved by their pet cat when a fire broke out in their Wonder Lake house on early Monday morning. However, following the incident the pet cat which was credited with saving the lives of the couple unfortunately has gone missing.

Josh Ornberg and his seven months pregnant girlfriend, Letitia Kovalovsky were sleeping in the couch of their northwestern Chicago suburb home when they were awakened by their pet cat ‘Baby’ after the room was filled by smoke. The smoke resulted from a fire that had broken in the couple’s room although the reason which led to the fire is still under investigation.

Initially, the man attempted to douse off the fire by himself with the help of an extinguisher. However, soon the fire went out of control due to which ultimately he had to call 911.

While recounting the incident, Wonder Lake Fire Protection District Asst. Chief Mike Weber later revealed that following the arrival of the fire fighting crews, the fire was brought under control within 30 minutes. However, the house suffered major damage owing to the fire and numerous belongings of the couple along with baby items were destroyed.

However, fortunately no one was injured in the incident and the couple along with the cat ‘Baby’ and pet dog were able to escape the fire which was shooting out from the back of the house. However, the gray, white and brown tabby went missing some time later although the couple are now desperately hoping to find the cat which saved their life.
