Perry Watkins Of Buckinghamshire Is All Set To Enlist His Name In Guinness Book

dinnerSep 8, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Perry Watkins of Buckinghamshire hopes to win the Guinness Fastest Furniture record this year. The British inventor made a new world record for driving a piece of furniture on a racetrack. Perry Watkins, from Buckinghamshire fitted an engine and wheels under a dining table which he named as “Fast Food” and he drove it at a top speed of 113.8 mph per hour.

The media reports that Perry Watkins from Wingrave near Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire carried out two runs on a 500m track at Santa Pod in Northamptonshire on Sunday. The media reports that Perry watkins comfortably broke the record previously made by “Soft Sofa” in 2007 and this achievement is yet to be enlisted in Guinness Book. Perry Watkins said after setting the record that it was actually worse that he thought it to be. While he drove about 113.8 mph per hour, he felt that he drove at a speed of 200 mph. While describing his experience the new record setter said that driving the car was “scary” for him.

Perry Watkins said that the table cloth was “flapping” away and he was trying to spot the finish line. The Buckinghamshire man said that the whole event was quite “difficult” for him. He also added that initially he was only doing 90 mph at the beginning of the timed run. However, afterwards he realized that by the time he crossed the finish line, he was going over 130 mph. Perry Watkins has previously set a world record when he made the world’s lowest car. Perry Watkins also built the smallest car with a 150cc engine from a Postman Pat toy delivery van. Perry Watkins said that his new vehicle is made of a Reliant Scimitar sports car chassis which is run by a fuel-injected 4 liter Land Rover Discovery engine.
