Patty Hearst’s Story Revealed In MSNBC Documentary

Patty HearstDec.28, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The captivating story of newspaper heiress, Patty Hearst was aired on MSNBC in its documentary series “Witness: The Kidnapping of Patty Hearst” on Sunday night. The program kept all the viewers glued to the television screens as they witnessed the unbelievable story of a media heiress getting abducted and her transformation into a bank robber, who is then taken into custody by the police.

The two hour special show although did not see the presence of the lady in question, it included intrinsic details about the kidnapping that took place way back in the 1970s and its subsequent consequences. The documentary chronicled the life of Patty Hearst and also included interviews and testimonial from the people who could give first hand account of the entire incident as it unfolded.

In 1974, 19 year old college student Patricia Campbell Hearst, who is the granddaughter of iconic media personality William Randolph Hearst, was abducted by the radical group Symbionese Liberation Army. The young girl was held captive for 57 days during which she had to suffer inhuman torture as she was repeatedly raped and abused while being held at gun point.

However, the most shocking part of the story was yet to come as it emerged later that the media heiress had joined the radical group and participated in various unlawful activities of the radical group. She was later captured by the police and received a seven year sentence although she supposedly served about two years in prison. Meanwhile, the unexpected turn of events in the life of Patty Hearst continues to amaze the viewers even after 22 years have passed since the incident.
