Passenger train derails in Washington, D.C.
February 12th, 2010 - 11:02 pm ICT by BNO NewsWASHINGTON, D.C. (BNO NEWS) — A passenger train derailed near a train station in Washington, D.C. on Friday, officials said.
The six-car Red Line train derailed around 10.13 a.m. local time near Farragut North station, according to a Metro spokeswoman. She said the front wheels of the lead car came off the track.
First responders have arrived at the scene and are assessing the situation. No injuries were immediately reported, but the spokeswoman said the report was still preliminary.
