Plane stopped at JFK Airport due to a suspected “no fly” list passenger
May 6th, 2010 - 11:31 pm ICT by BNO NewsNEW YORK (BNO NEWS) — A passenger plane was briefly stopped on a taxiway at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport on Thursday, officials said.
The incident involved an Emirates airline plane. According to authorities, the plane was stopped because a passenger was identified as being on the “no fly” list. The no fly list is a list created by the U.S. government of people who are not permitted to board commercial aircraft.
However, it later turned out the name was not an exact match.
The incident involved Emirates flight 204, a Boeing 777-300ER. It was scheduled to depart JFK Airport at 11.38 a.m. EDT, with a final destination of Dubai International Airport. Dubai is often used by passengers who take connecting flights to Pakistan.
