Passenger plane carrying more than 100 people crashes in northwest Iran
January 10th, 2011 - 12:38 am ICT by BNO NewsURMIA, IRAN (BNO NEWS) — A passenger plane carrying 105 people crashed in northwestern Iran on Sunday evening, state-run media reported, but there was no immediate word on casualties or survivors.
The Fars news agency said the Boeing aircraft went down near Urmia, a city in northwestern Iran and the capital of West Azerbaijan Province. It said 105 passengers and crew members were on board the plane, which was owned by Iran Air.
No details about casualties or survivors were immediately available.
