Parts of Times Square evacuated due to suspicious package
May 8th, 2010 - 12:27 am ICT by BNO NewsNEW YORK CITY (BNO NEWS) — Some parts of Times Square were evacuated on Friday because of a suspicious package, emergency officials say.
The package is located at West 46 Street and Broadway. “Due to police activity in the vicinity of 46th Street and Broadway in Manhattan expect street closures in the Times Square area,” a NYC Office of Emergency Management statement read.
Further details were not immediately available.
The bomb scare came only days after a failed car bomb attack on Times Square in New York City. No one was injured in the failed attack, which was described as an ‘act of terrorism’ by New York Governor Paterson.
