Sydney, Nov 2 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A clinical psychologist in Australia has highlighted the risk posed by a new Barbie doll that has an in-built camera. The camera which is hidden in the necklace of the toy is meant for children to film themselves when they are playing.

The camera can record a video of up to 30 minutes which can be viewed on an LCD at the back of the doll. The video can then transferred onto a computer later.

However the clinical psychologist, Sally-Anne McCormack revealed the risk that the toy camera poses to children. She revealed that pedophiles and other criminals can use the dolls which cost some $110 to video illicit poses of the children. She revealed that the toy can be a potential pornographic tool for child molesters and as a result urged all parents to boycott the dolls.

She spoke to the Herald Sun and revealed that the doll which is a “potentially pornographic tool” will make it easy for someone with bad intentions to video the children in an illicit way. She however revealed that she has counseled several children on the risk of getting themselves videoed without their knowledge.
