balloonboyColorado, Oct 19, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Colorado sky witnessed a bizarre incident late last week when a helium balloon floated across, supposedly carrying a 6-year old boy. The balloon was made by Richard Heene and it was reported by him that the flying saucer like balloon carried his 6 year old son Falcon. This had triggered a worldwide drama and when the balloon finally landed at a distance of 40 miles, the young boy was not present in it. Thus,it was feared that the boy might have fallen off but fortunately the boy was later found to be hiding in the attic, while an extensive 5-hour search was launched to find him.

However, doubts quickly surfaced about the authenticity of the entire episode as many believed that the incident was a hoax and the parents aimed to gain publicity from the coverage provided by media. The boy’s father, Richard Heene and his wife Mayumi Heene are former contestants of the reality show the “Wife Swap” and the episode was an attempt to come into media limelight.

Larimar County sheriff Jim Alderden has said that initial investigation into the matter has revealed that the incident was a publicity stunt and the parents of the boy are likely to face criminal charges against them. The sheriff in a press conference has also said that it might be likely that while a search was on to find the boy, the boy might have been playing in the park rather than hiding in the attic as reported by his parents. However, the Heenes have denied all the charges and their attorney David A. Lane has said in a statement that his clients are ready to prove their innocence and are going to cooperate with the entire procedure.
