paidieaAtlanta, Oct 3, (THAINDIAN NEWS) According to the sources, the Atlanta fire-fighters department literally battled it out in order to contain a two-alarm fire at Paideia school, a private school located at the Ponce de Leon Avenue. The alleged fire alarm broke out on Friday. And the startling revelation of fire captain Bill May who said that the fire was intentionally set, spurred speculations regarding the safety of the school.

“Some hay bails were set on fire that were on the porch. The fire spread from the hay to the attic, from there it traveled pretty much the distance of the building, ” said May, who billed the incident as a foul play. The Mother Goose building, which was adversely affected by the ferocious fire is speculated to be the first building within the school campus from where the fire had actually broke out.

According to the sources, about 20 trucks and 50 fire fighters were deployed in order to tackle the raging blaze that completely destroyed the old Victorian style building commonly know as the “Mother Goose Building.” “I have been going there for the past 12 years. My mother worked here for 15 or 20 years. Her classroom was in the building that burned down,” said a student, Jake Ellwood. As the fire fighters tried their best to contain the raging blaze, the school staffs, parents and students stood battled hard to control their emotions as they watched their beloved building getting burned out.

The firefighters were successful enough to refrain the fire from spreading to an adjoining auditorium. The cause of the fire is still unknown as investigations are being carried out by the fire department officials.
