Owner of the chimp that mauled Charla Nash - Sandra Herold dies

Chicago, May 26 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The owner of the chimp that had mauled Charla Nash mercilessly, Sandra Herold died. She was 72 years old. She died on Monday because of a ruptured aortic aneurysm. Her lawyer Robert Golger in a statement confirmed her death.

Meanwhile Charla Nash – the victim of the chimp attack is reported to be ‘in disbelief’ over the news. When she was told about the death, by her brother Michael Nash then she exclaimed, ‘What!’ and was even knocked speechless. Then the family of Charla Nash released a statement, which said that, “Charla made a brief statement stating that Sandra was a troubled woman and maybe she has some peace now. The Nash family expressed their condolences to Sandra’s family and support their privacy during this time of loss of a beloved family member.”

Sandra Herold was the owner of the chimp Travis, who had attacked Charla Nash in February 2009, and in the process even blinded her. The brutal 12-minute attack left Charla Nash blind as the chimp mauled and ate off Charla’s hands, nose, lips, eyelids, and even broke bones in her face. After that Charla Nash had filed a $50 million lawsuit against Sandra Herold. Now after Sandra’s death, it remains to be seen what would come out of that lawsuit.
