Dec.16, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The founder of Oral Roberts University and Oral Roberts Evangelistic Association succumbed his life to pneumonia on Tuesday at California at the age of 91. The evangelist, Oral Roberts had his son and daughter, Richard and Roberta at his deathbed in his last moments at the Newport Beach. Oral Roberts was undergoing a treatment for pneumonia from a long time, but he was admitted only after he took a bad fall which led to several broken bones. His Reverend said that the deceased was ‘a man of God’ and that he served as a ‘great friend in the ministry’. Billy Graham (the Reverend) also said that he considered Oral Roberts not only as a dear friend but as a brother, which had also led to a number of ‘quiet conversations’ between them over their acquaintance period.

Oral Roberts was seen as a God-fearing man and it had been long ago, in 1977, when Oral Roberts said that he had literally envisioned a ‘900-foot-tall Jesus’, and claimed that Jesus had asked him to build the City of Faith Medical and Research Center. In later years Roberts had raised millions of dollars for medical missionaries, saying that ‘God would call him home’ otherwise.

Oral Robert is now succeeded by his children and grandchildren, since his wife Evelyn Robert had died in 2005 after a 66-year-long-marriage. Preceding his death Oral Roberts said that after he was gone, the public will themselves ‘have to judge’ that how well he had carried out his social duties. The memorial services are supposed to take place in Oklahama’s Tulsa city, which will be open to the public.
