Ryan O’Neal who has been Farrah Fawcett’s partner for a long time now, is face to face with a lawsuit. The lawsuit has been filed by film-maker Craig Nevius who claims that he and Fawcett had struck a deal in 2004 with the ailing actress. The film maker says that he has been forced to opt out of the documentary which charts the story of Fawcett’s battle with cancer. The film was supposed to be titled “Chasing Farrah.”

Craig Nevius says that after working with Fawcett for nearly two years or so O’Neal and Alana Stewart (a close friend of Fawcett) began to “wrongfully interfere” with his contract with Fawcett. This was the time (the year 2006) when Fawcett was diagnosed with cancer.

Nevius’ accusations against O’Neil are on two main counts: first that O Neil threatened him physically, and second that O’ Neil demanded that Nevius should let go of his authority over the company that was producing the cancer documentary film.

Another person facing charges is Fawcett’s manager. Fawcett’s business manager has been accused of “misrepresenting his deal” with NBC. The cancer documentary will be aired on Friday.

Nevius’ allegations have been contested by O’ Neal, Stewart, and Fawcett. Nevius’ claims have not only been rubbished at as false, he has also been severely criticized for being insensitive. This is especially so in the context of Fawcett’s on going battle with cancer.

Paul Bloch, the spokesperson on behalf of O’Neal, Fawcett and Stewart has reportedly told TMZ.com, “I am shocked by this type of behavior. Here’s a woman who everyone knows has been ill and to do something like this is horrific… This has been a very difficult time for Ryan O’Neal. When you see something like this you have to question the motives of someone who can be so hurtful during this very sensitive time in a person’s life.”
