One killed after small plane crash in Georgia
July 20th, 2009 - 7:00 pm ICT by admin ( Leave a comment )COLUMBUS, Georgia (BNO NEWS) — One person was killed when his plane crashed at Columbus Metropolitan Airport in Columbus, Georgia on Sunday evening, officials tell BNO News.
The crash happened at 6.10 p.m. local time, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). It involved a fixed wing single-engine plane which was registered to Gerald M. Edmonds from Columbus, Georgia. It was not immediately confirmed if he was actually flying the plane. It was a Veri-Eze model manufactured by O’Bert James.
The plane went down while the pilot was practicing “touch and goes”, the FAA said. It came down between two hangars.
Records showed the certificate for the plane was issued on 09/02/2004 and was still valid when it crashed.
