Swindon, Aug 1 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The taxis which are to be fuelled by hydrogen in the Olympic games venue need to travel for 130 miles to Swindon where refueling can be done. The nearby fueling station which is located at Lea Interchange was closed following some security reasons.

Therefore, the hydrogen fueling taxis have to travel all the way to Swindon for fueling. The taxis are simply loaded on the transporter and a trip is taken to locate them at car manufacturers Honda’s plant, which is in Swindon.

However, the coordinator of Hydrogen Transport for European cities has reported that arrangements are made regarding the introduction of a hydrogen fueling station at Heathrow which is located nearby the venue of Olympic Games in London. The project is expected to end very soon, probably before the end of Olympics. Therefore the taxi owners should not worry because the problem will be settled in due time.

These kinds of taxis that use hydrogen as fuel are forms of pride to the British, because they are able to show their technology growth. The first commercial hydrogen fueling station in UK was opened in a September and it is under the management of industrial Gases Group. Incase of a hydrogen shortage, shipping of hydrogen can be done from Swindon.
