Officers arrest woman after she tried to cross US-Canadian border intoxicated
January 17th, 2010 - 4:06 am ICT by BNO NewsMASSENA, NEW YORK (BNO NEWS) – State Police in Massena, NY arrested a woman Saturday after she tried to cross the US-Canadian border while intoxicated.
Helen A. Gray, 31, was entering the United States from Canada at the Massena Port of Entry when US Customs and Border Protection agents referred Gray for a secondary inspection. During the interview process with US Customs agents, they suspected that Gray was intoxicated and notified the State Police. The State Police administered standard field sobriety tests to Gray and determined that she was, in fact, intoxicated.
Gray was arrested and transported to Massena for processing, where she was found to have a BAC of 0.16%, double the legal limit. Gray was issued Uniform Traffic Tickets returnable to the Town of Massena Court.
