Officers apprehend two suspects in Wurstburo, NY wanted for bank robbery

WURTSBURO, NEW YORK (BNO NEWS) – New York State Police apprehend two suspects responsible for bank robbery Saturday.

Victor M. Michael, 41, and Cathleen Murtagh, 30, were arrested after acting together to rob Citizen’s Bank, located in Bloomingburg, N.Y. They were both charged with Robbery in the 3rd degree, and in addition to that, Murtagh was charged with Falsely Reporting an Incident in the 1st degree.

On January 9, 2010, Murtagh entered the bank and threatened the use of explosives and, after taking an amount of cash, left the bank in a getaway car driven by Michael. The investigation revealed that although the use of explosives was threatened, none actually existed.

Murtagh and Michael were arraigned in front of the Town of Mamkating Town Justice and remanded to Sullivan County Jail in lieu of No Bail, pending further court action.
