MIAMI, FLORIDA (BNO NEWS) – A father and son of Oakland Park, Florida were sentenced on Thursday on charges of aggravated assault on a U.S. Postal Service letter carrier, prosecutors announced.

Donald Lincks, the father, was sentenced to 93 months in federal prison while Kevin Lincks, his son, was sentenced to 84 months of imprisonment. Both co-defendants will follow their prison terms with three years of supervised release.

On June 26, 2009, the defendants asked the U.S. Postal employee to give them their mail while on the street. The letter carrier denied the request after stating that he didn’t know them. They became angered by such response and started to punch him in the face and head. The postman fled and threw a rock at the angry father and son. Kevin Lincks picked the rock up and threw it back. He hit the victim on the shoulder, injuring his right temple which needed stitches.
