Nov 26 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A report from the Associated Press reveals that New York City’s taxi cab regulators are insisting that the drivers of New York City cabs should have a new dress code which would require then to wear new uniforms that would give them a more professional appearance.

David S Yassky, the Taxi and Limousine Chairman stated to the ‘New York Times’ that it will not be an easy task to enforce a new dress code on cab drivers, but they are trying to bring in a higher standard for the look of the city’s cabbies.

At the current time, cab drivers can be given a fine if they wear tube shirts, tank tops or swimming shorts. There were no certain kinda of clothing mentioned in the new revised dress code, just that they will be required to wear uniforms.

According to the director of the New York Taxi Alliance, Bhairavai Desai, she would be worried if the “idea of professional attire is left to the naked eye to decide.” The new dress code is expected to be passed next month.
