Noynoy Aquino Leads Philippines Election

Manila, Philippines, May 11, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Senator Benigno Aquino III is all set to become the next president of Philippines after the initial results of the vote counting on Tuesday seems to have tilted victory in his favor. According to reports that have surfaced, the 50 year old first time senator has been successful in gathering 12,236,697 votes when the official tally from 76,347 precincts across the nation was declared on early Tuesday morning.
Senator Benigno Aquino III, who is popularly known by the nickname ‘Noynoy’ had manged to garner around 40 per cent of the votes that were counted earlier on Tuesday when an estimated 78 per cent of the ballots were taken into consideration, reports have stated. Prior to the elections, the senator had build much of his campaign on the promise of providing a transparent government that would regard improving the tax collection and developing the standard of education as its top priority.
