North Korea Missile Hawaii- Reasons unidentifiedJune 20th, 2009 - 3:38 am ICT by GD
US deploying anti -missile defenses around Hawaii is not just a whim of theirs but as per Japanese news on Thursday, North Korea may fire a long-range ballistic missile toward Hawaii in early July. Is it a threat against all the UN sanctions that were levied on North Korea for conducting a second nuclear test on My 25th? Well, possibly yes- it seems like North Korea is trying to fix it with a slap of such a test-fire.
Well it can comfortably accepted that North Korea is perhaps trying to test long range weapons after having tested short range weapons. All short range weapons have been made to fall into the Sea of Japan but since there was a malfunction with the long range weapon, they need a distant target.
US Defense Secretary Robert Gates told reporters on 18th June, Thursday, that “Without telegraphing what we will do, I would just say … we are in a good position, should it become necessary, to protect Americans and American territory”. This should rouse confidence of general public on how US will be protected from such attacks.
As per Security Council 192 U.N member states have to get their vessels inspected with approval from the parent country in case the cargo consists of banned weapons becomes a matter of suspicion.
With the exact reason as to why Hawaii, which is 4,350 miles west of North Korea, has been targeted. Officials are guessing that it is a gesture to show that the missile has the capability to reach US, or even for that matter, it could be because Hawaii is home to the headquarters of the U.S. Pacific Fleet.
Though planning for a vacation to Hawaii is on the run but this time it needs to be given a second thought.
