RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA (BNO NEWS) – A new JobsNOW lending initiative to help more small businesses get the loans needed for growing or staying in business was announced by North Carolina Governor Beverly Perdue on Friday.

“North Carolina’s small businesses are the backbone of our economy, creating more than two-thirds of all new jobs. Small businesses will power North Carolina’s economic recovery,” said Governor Perdue.

The initiative was launched due to the economic recession that causes small and medium-sized business to have a hard time getting loans and credit.

The state will take some measures to help small businesses, like advising them on strengthening loan applications in order to have a better chance of getting a loan. In the next six months, “banker boot camps” will be held by the state to coach loan officers and community banks on how to take advantage of loans.

Additionally, Governor Perdue continues to call on leaders in Washington to help ease the small business credit crisis.
