No U.S. or NATO casualties in Afghan blast
December 31st, 2009 - 12:56 am ICT by BNO News ( Leave a comment )KABUL (BNO NEWS) — An explosion at a U.S. base in eastern Afghanistan on Wednesday killed no American or other international forces, officials said.
“There was an explosion at the base,” a spokesman for the NATO-led ISAF alliance told BNO News from Kabul. Another spokesperson described it as an ‘incident,’ saying it happened at the Forward Operating Base in Khost province.
CNN and other media reports reported that U.S. soldiers died in the blast, but NATO denied those reports. “That is not accurate,” a spokesman said.
The U.S. Embassy said it was checking on the reports, and had no immediate details.
