New York City, Mar 8 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Authorities have scrapped the proposed construction of a restaurant on the top floor of the World Trade Center. The restaurant was available in one of the twin towers that was floored after the 9/11 attacks.

The announcement of the scrapping of the proposed eatery was made by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. They don’t see how it is important saying that it is just a waste of money. The authorities plan to build something more profitable at the top of the skyscraper instead.

The New York Post quoted the executive director of Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Chris Ward, as saying, “These things are always money-losers… We don’t build vanity projects at the top of tall buildings.”

What-should-be and what-should-not-be at the Ground Zero has been a bone for some serious contentions. A proposed mosque at the Ground Zero received widespread condemnation from some residents of New York City and the United States as a whole.

NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg gave his approval for the construction of the proposed mosque but the construction has delayed mainly due to the fact that funds are not available.
