Dekalb, Feb 19 (THAINDIAN NEWS) There was an early morning shooting on the campus of the Northern Illinois University, which left one person injured. Brain Mulder was injured, and he has been taken to the Kishwaukee Community Hospital for treatment. One person is also in custody in connection with the shooting incident. This incident happened near the Stevenson Hall, which the police officers believe is an isolated incident between 2 individuals.

University student, 22-year-old Daniela Bedolla, said that she heard a gunshot while studying in her room. She found the sound to be really loud, and she also got a text alert from the school about the shooting. English student Katie Martin was having fast asleep inside her Stevenson Hall room, when she received a call from her mother about the shooting. “My mom called me at about 5 a.m. because the buses don’t run yet by the time we open, and we have to walk here, so she was quite worried considering it happened right outside the building,” Martin said. Katie also said that she hasn’t subscribed to the University text alert service, but after this incident she is thinking about subscribing to it.
