maBoise, Idaho, March 9, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The missionary from US, Charisa Coulter, who was detained and was behind the bars for more than a month, has been released by the Haitian Judge Bernard Saint -Vil on Friday. She has reportedly come back to Miami on Monday night, after being released from the prison and is at present staying at a hotel. The Haitian Authority has still withheld Laura Silsby, who belongs to the missionary group from Idaho.

The ten member missionary group from Idaho went to the devastated Haiti after the earthquake on January 12. They were held by the police at the border along with 3 children when they were trying to cross the border to the Dominican Republic. According to reports, the group was not found with enough legal documents which proved their custody of the children with them. The missionaries reportedly told the police that they were planning to open an orphanage in Dominican Republic. They were charged with the case of kidnapping the 3 kids and were put behind bars. Eight of the ten members were released by the judge in February. However, Charisa Coulter and Laura Silsby were detained for further questioning. The former was released by the judge after no evidence was found against her.

Charisa Coulter’s father has reportedly said to the media that his daughter is both happy and sad for her release. While she is free, she has left behind her friend in jail. Although he said that Charisa Coulter is in Miami, when she will come back to Idaho is still not known. Charisa Coulter, after coming out of the jail, headed straight to the airport for her return to her native land.
