Mar 30, (THAINDIAN NEWS) As many as nine suspects who are believed to have affiliations to the Christian militia group, Hutaree, were charged on Monday, in Detroit for conspiring to take the lives of police officers as well as possessing weapons. Federal agents have revealed that among the members of the militia groups who have been taken into custody, there are eight men and a single woman while one of the suspects was reported to have escaped.
While talking about the indictment, Attorney General Eric Holder revealed that the extremists intended to kill a law enforcement officer with the aim of attracting police officers in the funeral where a vicious attack was likely to take place with the help of explosive devices. At the same time, Eric Holder has confirmed that the plan of the militia group has been prevented and the group which planned to wage a war against United States, has received a huge setback owing to the arrests. Despite the fact that federal officials have highlighted that the small extremist group intended to wage a war against the government, any information about whether Hutaree is associated with a large scale movement has not been available as yet. It has come to light that the extremists were arrested in a number of raids that were conducted by FBI.
Meanwhile, the various activities indulged in by the militia group, which called itself ‘Christian warrior’ group is not something that they wanted to keep hidden from the public. Hutaree maintained an online portal which showcases the military style training exercises of the group and also used it to express its intentions.
