Newlywed Erica Marshall dies in a freak accident
February 14th, 2012 - 10:35 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattFlorida, Feb 13 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Investigation into a deadly blast that claimed that life of a newlywed bride has concluded that the initial spark was accidentally caused by a horse. Erica Marshall and the horse died at the scene while another person suffered severe injuries.
The 28-year-old who married last November worked at an equine rehabilitation center. On the fateful day of the blast, investigators say the vets failed to sedate the animal probably because the creature had behaved well on the previous visits.
However the animal turned violent this time and kicked. The metal shoe struck another metal at the high oxygen chamber. The spark resulted in a massive explosive because of the presence of pure oxygen. The animal died instantly with Erica dying at the scene later.
Another person was severely injured but doctors managed to save her life. Investigators say the blast was heard about 30 miles away.
Husband, Kiera Marshall, told reporters that, “Erica was such a kind and generous woman. She only cared about other people and wouldn’t want all this fuss but that was Erica, she was selfless.”
Investigators say there was nothing anyone could do about the accident because everything happened so fast. Pure oxygen helps tissues to repair faster.
