January 3rd, 2012 - 12:48 am ICT by Aishwarya BhattNew York City, Jan 2 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The New York Police are burning the midnight oil as they continue their investigation into the four Molotov cocktail attacks that happened on Sunday. One of the attacks happened against a mosque, which was housing more than 70 people at the time of the attack.
And another attack happened against a Hindu temple. Fortunately enough, there were no causalities. The other two attacks took place against a private residential property and a convenience store. The police revealed that they were spaced out over a period of 2 hours.
The attacks have been condemned by the NY Governor Andrew Cuomo and he said that, “go against everything we stand for as New Yorkers and Americans.” He also added that, “Attacks such as this have no place in our open and inclusive society and we must do all we can to ensure New York remains a safe and tolerant place for all.”
Imam Maan Alsahlani, who was present in the mosque was very upset over the attacks. He said that,”We don’t know who did this and we cannot accuse anyone. We will let the police department deal with this. Even after Sept. 11, nobody did anything to the center or attacked the center.”
