New York, Apr 28 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A federal appeals court sided with Jessica Seinfeld in the cookbook row. She was neck to neck in a battle with Missy Chase Lapine, who had alleged that comedian Jerry Seinfeld’s wife Jessica had copied her idea of how parents can feed vegetables to their children, who have finicky eating habits. The New York appeals court said that, “stockpiling vegetable purees for cover use in children’s food is an idea that cannot be copyrighted.”

Jessica Seinfeld’s cookbook and Missy Chase Lapine’s book were both published in 2007. And Jessica’s book is titled “Deceptively Delicious: Simple Secrets to Get Your Kids Eating Good Food.” Chase Lapine’s cookbook is titled “The Sneaky Chef: Simple Strategies for Hiding Healthy Foods in Kids’ Favorite Meals.”

Chase Lapine had filed a lawsuit against Jessica Seinfeld over her cookbook which is titled - “Deceptively Delicious: Simple Secrets to Get Your Kids Eating Good Food.” Lapine’s cookbook came out earlier, and then Jessica’s book followed it after a few months. Lapine was shocked to see that Jessica had copied her trade secrets that she had mentioned in her book. The fight amongst both the cookery authors reached a boiling point, when Jessica ridiculed Lapine on the CBS’ “Late Show with David Letterman”.
